Dardenne Prairie holds first reading of contract with Stryler Planning LLC for planning services

The Dardenne Prairie Board of Aldermen gave Bill 25-40 a first reading on Sept. 3, an ordinance that would authorize the city administrator to execute a professional services agreement with Stryler Planning LLC for planning services.
City Attorney read the bill title into the record. Mayor and staff explained the proposal follows a change from a full-time city planning employee toward a part-time contractual arrangement to meet evolving city needs. "We had previously had a full-time employee that was executing planning services for the city," the mayor said; "based on some of the evolving needs of the city, this is kind of rolling into more of a part time contractual thing."
Board members noted that, because this is a non-administrative item, the city typically follows a two-reading process and invited comment on whether a second reading was necessary. No member requested a second reading at that time; the ordinance remains at first-reading status and will return to the board if a subsequent reading is scheduled.
No formal vote to adopt the ordinance was recorded at this meeting.
