"The recommended vendor is Stewart Signs. The 6 millimeter digital sign in the amount of $25,844.01," Maresca said, asking the board to authorize the $2,844.01 additional funding from available resources to complete the purchase.
Staff identified the authorizing ordinance as "bill number 25 53," which would permit the city administrator to execute a purchase order with Stewart Signs for a 6 mm full‑color display. Alderman Johnson moved to approve the over‑budget purchase; Alderman Gittemeyer seconded and the board approved the motion by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
Staff noted the sign’s higher resolution will improve legibility for drivers and pedestrians and that the unit’s warranty and wireless service were primary justifications for the additional expense. The purchase will proceed under the identified ordinance and will be funded from available budget balances plus the authorized increase.
