North Logan formalizes audit committee with council appointment

The North Logan City Council on Oct. 8 adopted a resolution formalizing an internal audit committee to assist oversight of internal and external audit functions.
Staff explained the audit committee formalization was an auditor recommendation; the resolution codifies an existing internal practice and specifies membership (city treasurer, mayor, and one councilmember) and a minimum meeting frequency of twice a year. Mark moved to adopt the resolution and Kenny seconded. Council conducted a roll-call vote that recorded Mark Aye, Kenny Aye and Emily Aye; the motion passed unanimously on the record.
Staff said the committee will oversee the audit presentation by Aldrich Jackson in November and reconvene to review closing documentation in June. The council asked staff to schedule the committee’s meetings and provide materials in advance for review.
