CDRA reports reimbursements filed and equestrian center project closed under budget

Staff told the CDRA that reimbursement requests for multiple projects have been submitted to UDOT, Utah Rec and State Parks; the equestrian center closed under budget and roughly $600,000 remains available for the linkage trail project.
At its Jan. 6 meeting the Mount Pleasant Community Development and Redevelopment Agency received a financial update from staff detailing reimbursements, grant closeouts and project balances.
Speaker 2 said, “All reimbursement requests have now been submitted to both UDOT, Utah Rec, and also State Parks,” and confirmed the large trail project reimbursement (about $2,230,000) has been submitted. He said accrual accounting will cause a surge of claims next month because the finance office is holding a number of checks.
Speaker 2 reported that the equestrian center grant closed under budget. “When we got that $300,000 grant, they gave us $270,000 upfront. Now we’re closed out. We get the last 10%,” Speaker 2 said, and added that roughly $600,000 remains available to fund the linkage trail in the spring. He said staff will present options for that linkage work once final accounting is complete.
The presenter noted federal continuing resolution (CR1) activity could affect timing for some federal funds: “CR1 goes through, January 30,” he said. Members asked follow-up questions but largely expressed support that projects were on track and under budget.
No formal action was taken on these project funding items at the meeting; staff were directed to continue with closeout and to bring proposals for use of remaining linkage-trail funds.
