The Wallsburg Town Council on Aug. 7 voted to award a contract for the town-hall sprinkler replacement to Frog Bottom Irrigation and Landscape.
Council reviewed two bids: Nearing Plumbing at $24,402 and Frog Bottom at $18,900. A representative for Frog Bottom described the scope as trenching the existing grass footprint, replumbing, installing new valves and wiring, integrating with the existing Rainbird clock, tuning and backfilling trenches. The representative said the work would likely take “a couple weeks” to complete once started. Council members discussed shrub removal around the building (not included in the bid) and labeling wiring to ease future maintenance.
After discussion a motion to accept Frog Bottom’s bid was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. Council directed staff to coordinate shrub removal before the contractor starts and to communicate schedule logistics to the public.
