Planning panel approves zoning clearance for updated Sherman house size and on-site containers

The town planning and zoning panel approved zoning clearance Nov. 5 for Lucy and Carl Sherman after confirming revised house dimensions and the location of on-site containers meet setback requirements. The discussion took place during the Town Planning and Zoning meeting called to order at 7:04 p.m.

Panel members reviewed updated plans that Speaker 1 read into the record as new dimensions and asked the applicant to confirm the location of an on-site metal container. Speaker 5, who represented the property, said the container was "over a 100" feet from the house and roughly five to six feet from the fence. Speaker 1 stated, "It looks like everything meets the setback requirements." Hearing no further questions, Speaker 2 moved to grant zoning clearance and Speaker 4 seconded; Speaker 3 vocalized agreement and the motion was recorded as carried.

Speaker 2 told the Shermans the original paperwork they had previously completed remained valid for the building-permit application and that the panel would not need to update the earlier forms. "That's what you'll take to get your building permit," Speaker 2 said. The panel advised the applicants to take the approved materials to the county when they are ready to apply.

The panel did not record changes to applicable ordinances during the Sherman item. No public comment was made on this agenda item. The panel moved on to the next agenda item after advising the Shermans on filing steps and confirming plan copies would be made available.
