Planning commission approves four 50-foot flagpole sites at Fairfield Industrial Park

The Fairfield Planning and Zoning Commission voted to approve four locations where a previously authorized 50-foot flagpole may be placed at the Fairfield Industrial Park and agreed to sign a map documenting those locations.

The commission’s chair summarized that a 50-foot flagpole had been approved on April 8 and that four candidate sites — two previously approved and two newly requested — were now shown on a map. The chair said the commission would sign the map so there would be “no question” about where the pole could be sited.

Commissioner 4 moved to approve the map for the Fairfield Light Industrial West Zone listing the additional 50-foot flagpole locations, and the motion was seconded. After discussion to clarify the zone name and map wording, commissioners voted in favor and the chair said the signed map would be placed in the public record.

The action is procedural and documents siting options; no building permit, foundation work or installation date for the flagpole was recorded at the meeting. The commission did not alter the prior April approval’s dimensional condition (50 feet) and stated the siting remains subject to applicable federal, state and local law.

The commission will sign the map to record the decision and the item was closed.
