A representative from Jones & Mill told the Glendale Town Council the town’s recently completed culinary water master plan has identified several deficiencies and outlined projects to improve system pressure and reliability.
Kyler, representing Jones & Mill, said the firm has identified low-pressure areas, pump issues near Little Spring, and the need to reconfigure piping to optimize the system. He said the redrill of the local well (referred to as Hop's well) has been awarded to Land Drilling as the best-value contractor and that the contractor is planning for a tentative May 1 start date.
Kyler said site grading and road improvements are required to allow drilling access and that the project team has been trying to secure written permission from a property owner (named in the meeting as Ray Bentz). He also estimated a roughly $100,000 budgetary bucket for a well-house/block building and said further design work will yield firmer costs.
"We just need to do some site grading to open up that area and then do road improvements to get you," Kyler said, urging the council to help with property access as plans advance.
Councilors raised follow-up questions about project funding and confirmed that one of the projects already has CIB (Community Impact Board) funding awarded, while subsequent projects will be pursued through future grant applications. Staff and the consultant agreed to coordinate follow-up meetings to refine plans and schedules.
