Council assigns departmental leads for roads, water, parks, fire and planning

The Glendale Town Council voted to assign responsibilities among council members for a set of town portfolios.
Under the motion approved by the council, Paul will serve as the point person for roads; Jeremy was assigned to lead water matters; Clint was designated for parks and recreation; Marshall will be the primary contact for the fire department; and Raleigh will serve on the planning commission. The assignments were moved by Raleigh Franklin and seconded by Paul, and the motion passed by voice vote.
Councilors said the assignments are intended to create point people for recurring issues while encouraging collaboration and backup coverage across members. The presiding speaker said members may assist one another when conflicts arise and emphasized that the assignment does not prevent other councilors from participating on specific issues.
