Holden council cancels Nov. 4 municipal election, names unopposed candidates

The resolution text as read during the meeting named Matthew Stevens, Michael Plaza and David Wood as the filing candidates for the three seats and said those individuals are "hereby considered to be elected to their respective offices of Holden Town to begin in January." The council voted to adopt the resolution and directed the city treasurer and town clerk to post the required notice.
Council members noted a clerical need to change a name and to correct the date in the draft before signing; staff said they would make those corrections and post the cancellation notice as required by statute.
