Canaryville to pay for stormwater master plan after grant uncertainty

He recommended paying for the study up front to avoid a year of delay, and noted the engineering firm would bill in phases as work is completed.
After discussing options, the board voted to pay for the study without pursuing the CIB application immediately and to use remaining funds in the post office budget to cover the shortfall. Board members directed staff to manage payments as bills arrive and to return if adjustments to the budget are needed.
Members said the town needs a comprehensive plan before undertaking piecemeal drainage fixes across town and that the master plan will guide future work on culverts, parking-lot retention and other flood mitigation measures.
