Water board hears project updates: irrigation expansion, culinary tanks, new wells and Dixie Springs

Following its vote on the impact‑fee plan, the board received several operational updates.
Irrigation expansion: Staff said concrete work and pond inlet/outlet construction are under way but the project completion slipped from Jan. 1 to June 1 because of weather and parts delays; crews expect to resume pours and continue pipeline tie‑ins.
Culinary tanks and pipeline: Staff reported the pipeline trenches are dug at joints and crews have encountered leaks caused by deformed ductile iron pipe; repairs (cutting in dressers and replacing short sections) continue and tank pours will proceed once preparation is complete.
Wells: The Goulds Wash pilot hole and camera inspection found caverns and murky material down to ~300 feet; chemical treatment is planned to settle the mud before drilling to the target 800 feet. Sky Ranch well mobilization is in progress and staff is expediting start‑card paperwork with a mayor‑signed letter.
Dixie Springs and water rates: Staff said Dixie Springs infrastructure difficulties remain and the board will resume a detailed water‑rate discussion in January after additional data review.
Board members asked for funding updates and for staff to notify council if project timelines or funding needs change.
