The Oakley Planning Commission unanimously approved a plat amendment Jan. 8 to correct a boundary discrepancy between Lots 5 and 6 in the Oakley 1886 Subdivision.
Surveyor Josh Call explained the discrepancy stemmed from differences between a historical "Ruth Wylde boundary line agreement" and a later deed: one description used only bearing and distance, while the other added the phrase "to and along a fence line." The proposed amendment changes the recorded plat so the legal description follows the existing fence line and documented monumentation, matching the long-understood boundary between the adjacent owners.
Commissioner (speaker 3) moved to approve the plat amendment affecting Lots 5 and 6; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
Staff and the commission said the change is minor but important to avoid future title or boundary disputes as lots are sold.
