Planning staff reported a brief update on the county’s comprehensive plan process. Focus groups and public workshops have concluded, staff said, and attendance in Butler workshops exceeded attendance in Garrett. An online survey remains open through May; an online workshop (the public workshop in online form) will be available for about a month for additional input.
Staff said consultant HWC will analyze the collected input and produce a first draft for stakeholders in August or September, with roughly six months of schedule flexibility before subsequent public input steps. Commissioners were reminded to direct residents to the survey and to plan for stakeholder review later this year.
