The increased contract — not to exceed $2,650,000 in total — funds the left half of the design effort, which includes a transit lane to improve connectivity between the ferry terminal on Treasure Island and bus operations on the westbound span of the Bay Bridge. Holmes said the board previously allocated $750,000 from Prop A and that additional funding from MTC/BATA was secured in December to cover part of the amendment.
The project includes a 27% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal, and staff said the right half of the path is being designed by a separate firm (T.Y. Lin). Public comment on the item was absent and the roll call recorded 11 ayes, approving the amendment.
