Transportation Authority reappoints Sean Kim to Community Advisory Committee for District 1

The San Francisco County Transportation Authority Board voted to reappoint Sean Kim as the District 1 representative to its Community Advisory Committee.
Sean Kim, who said he is the owner of an ice-cream store on 18th and Geary and vice president of the Greater Geary Merchant Association, told commissioners he regularly uses Muni, has served on multiple neighborhood advisory committees and wants to “help amplify the voice of family, seniors, and small business groups” that he said are underrepresented.
Commissioner Chan, who nominated Kim, cited his work on the Geary BRT implementation and his role liaising with merchants and SFMTA and SFPUC during infrastructure upgrades. Chan said Kim’s involvement helped secure additional parking and smoothed project implementation along the corridor.
There was no public comment on the nomination. Commissioner Chan moved to reappoint Kim, Commissioner Walton seconded, and the clerk recorded 10 ayes. The motion passed.
The appointment fills the District 1 seat on the 11-member committee, whose members serve two-year terms and are appointed by the board to advise the Transportation Authority on projects and priorities.
