Board updates medication and infectious-disease policies to align with state code

The Wasatch County School Board voted to adopt revisions to two health-related district policies.
Aubrey Parks presented proposed minor changes to the medication administration policy so it aligns with Utah state code and evidence-based practice; trustees approved the revisions by voice vote. Parks and board members said the changes formalize practices already in use.
The board also approved changes to the districtexclusion and readmission for infectious disease policy, again to bring local practice into line with state guidance and evidence-based practice. Trustees discussed parent outreach and that the policy will be posted on the district website and explained during a study session for parents who have questions.
What happens next: District health services will publish both policies online and respond to parent inquiries; staff offered to field calls for additional clarification.
