The Lewis Central Community School District board on Dec. 1 administered oaths of office to newly elected directors (Jeremy Bach, Anne Peterson and Greg Sturm) and noted Jenny Sandow had previously been sworn in on Nov. 20.
Following the oaths, the board opened nominations for board officers. Tim Wright was nominated and elected board president by voice vote; Greg Stern was nominated and elected vice president. Andrea Race was nominated and appointed to serve as board secretary and treasurer, and the oath language for the treasurer position was read into the record.
The board approved committee memberships and assignments across a range of standing and ad-hoc committees, including negotiations/HR, facilities, conference boards, SIAC and oversight for teacher leadership and compensation. Members volunteered to serve on those committees as presented. The board also confirmed the district’s standard meeting schedule (first and third Mondays at 6:30 p.m., with exceptions as needed) and named district depositories (American National Bank and UMB) and official publication outlets.
The meeting closed with a schedule note that a board work session will be held Dec. 11 for CMR interviews and that the next regular board meeting is Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
