Senate moves Wahab’s SB722 to protect mobile‑home parks from unintended SB79 impacts

Gail Rubino, a Sunnyvale mobile‑home resident speaking for the Golden State Manufactured Home Owners League (GSMOL), said the group identified roughly 5,442 mobile homes in 36 parks across eight counties that would be exposed by SB79’s transit‑area rules and urged the committee to act.
Trade groups representing park owners said they worked with the author and welcome the clarifications; local governments in Sunnyvale and elsewhere thanked the senator for the fix. Lawmakers voiced support and noted the urgency to avoid displacing long‑term residents.
SB722 passed the committee and will go to local government for further consideration.
