Webster County supervisors approve updated urban renewal report, decertify $330,000 TIF debt

The Webster County Board of Supervisors approved an updated annual urban renewal report and authorized the chair to sign tax-increment-financing (TIF) certification and decertification documents during a brief special session. The board also decertified a $330,000 liability connected to a DBJG LLC project.

Crystal Lloyd, Budget and Finance Director, told the board that the certification list is required annually and that a $330,000 payment made by Secondary Roads for the DBJG LLC project had been missed in the certification process. "There was $330,000, that Secondary Roads took care of for the DBJG LLC, project," Lloyd said. She added that the item had been missed amid a changeover and that the county needed to "get this taken care of," noting the certification is required by Dec. 1 each year.

Lloyd explained that the action before the board both certifies the county's indebtedness items and decertifies the $330,000 because the county will collect that amount only this year. "This is also getting the 330,000 is decertified as well because we only will be collecting it this year," Lloyd said.

The chair called for and obtained a motion to approve the item; the motion was moved and seconded and the board voted in favor.
