RTA board elects Jim Steiner chair, Cindy Warren and Timothy Sheridan as vice chairs

Samantha Sommayo, clerk of the board, walked the board through the committee’s nominations and the verbal roll‑call process. For chair, the nominating committee put forward Jim Steiner (City of Corona); no other nominations were made and the clerk conducted a verbal vote. After cities and county districts answered in the affirmative, Sommayo announced "That passes." The board followed the same process for first vice chair and second vice chair.
The nominating committee’s recommended officers — Jim Steiner for chair, Cindy Warren for first vice chair, and Timothy J. Sheridan for second vice chair — were each elected by verbal vote during the meeting. The clerk reminded members that, under board policy, an elected officer must receive 12 votes to be elected; the vocal roll calls taken at the meeting produced the required support as announced by the clerk.
Sommayo said the nominating committee had been selected at the October board meeting and included the board chair and several directors who met on Nov. 20 to prepare the nominations. The board then congratulated the incoming officers and proceeded with the remainder of the agenda.
Outcome: the board elected Jim Steiner as chair, Cindy Warren as first vice chair, and Timothy J. Sheridan as second vice chair during the Dec. 18 meeting, with the clerk announcing that each nomination passed.
