Youth Commission reviews annual events, goals and appointments

Youth in Government Day: Chair said Youth in Government Day will be held in January 2026 and will include job shadowing with county departments and mentor pairings; commissioners recommended smaller job‑shadow groups to increase interaction and suggested more than one student per mentor in some placements.
Annual youth summit: The commission announced the annual youth summit is scheduled for April 17, 2026, at the Mead Valley Community Center in District 1. Commissioners who previously attended described the summit as highly interactive and encouraged planning across YACs.
