Hammond BZA elects Kathleen Hill chair, Roger Brock vice chair for 2026

Kathleen Hill was elected chair of the Hammond City Board of Zoning Appeals for 2026 after a nomination and unanimous roll-call vote. The board also filled the vice-chair slot, appointing Roger Brock in a separate unanimous vote.
The nominations were opened by board leadership; Hill accepted the nomination, saying, “I would be more than glad to accept the nomination.” The roll-call results in both elections were recorded as five ayes, zero nays.
The board also voted to table approval of minutes from Oct. 28 and Dec. 2 until the Feb. 24 meeting at the request of staff, with a motion to table approved by roll call.
The meeting proceeded into new business after the organizational items. The February BZA meeting was announced as the next regular meeting date for matters that were continued or that required additional documentation.
