Tree Commission elects temporary chair, approves minutes and accepts treasurer's report

The Holly Springs Tree Commission confirmed a temporary chair, approved minutes from its Aug. 12 meeting, selected a Yard of the Month and accepted the treasurer’s report during its Sept. 9 meeting.
Members first amended the agenda to allow an election of a temporary chair. The motion passed and commission members then nominated Matt Ackerman for the temporary chair position; the nomination was approved by voice vote.
Speaker 2 presented the treasurer’s report for July 2025, saying the commission began the month with $43,436.74, recorded a $150 withdrawal and ended with $43,286.74. The commission moved to accept the report and voted in favor.
The commission also approved the Aug. 12, 2025 minutes and selected 809 Hampton Way as Yard of the Month after a motion by Speaker 3 and a second. The meeting concluded after members moved to adjourn; the motion carried by voice vote.
