Holly Springs appoints William O'Neil to Cherokee County Library Board

The Holly Springs mayor and council on July 7 approved a resolution appointing William O'Neil to the Cherokee County Library Board of Trustees for a three‑year term. City staff explained that because the city became a funding agency for the county library system in 2014 it has the authority to appoint a trustee. Interviews were conducted by city staff and the Sequoia Regional Library System executive director to fill the expired term of Janet Wesley, and staff recommended O'Neil.
Council approved the appointment 5–0. Staff said the county library board meets four times per year and oversees library operations across the county.
