Council approves removal of emergency-only access stipulation for Bridal Town subdivision

The Holly Springs mayor and council approved a staff-recommended amendment to stipulations associated with rezoning case MAD-07-2020 for the Bridal Town subdivision on July 7.
City staff (Nancy Moon) explained the subdivision off Palm Street consists of about 63 homes and that the previously approved stipulations required a secondary emergency-vehicle-only access on Palm Drive equipped with a gate and a Knox box. The adjacent subdivision opposed general access, so the original compromise limited the route to emergency vehicles only. The applicant requested removal of that stipulation; planning commission recommended approval 4–0 and the fire marshal supported removing the requirement.
Council moved to approve the removal of the stipulation; the motion carried 5–0.
