Staff told commissioners that David Pearson Development, the developer of the Bridal Town subdivision on Palm Street, has requested an amendment to rezoning stipulations that would remove a required public access (originally provided as a secondary/emergency access to Palm Lake Drive).
Speaker 3 said the subdivision is under construction and that the fire marshal agreed the emergency access could be removed because unit counts and road configurations have changed since the platting. Commissioners asked if the primary entrance would need widening; staff replied the main entrance off Palm Street is built to city standards but asked the developer to provide clarifying documentation.
No action was taken. Commissioners asked staff to confirm that removing the secondary access complies with fire code and city standards and to provide documentation at the advertised public hearing.
