The Transbay Joint Powers Authority board on March 13 approved an amendment to the executive director’s employment agreement increasing paid administrative leave to a total of 120 hours per year.
Director Andrew Chang moved the increase and a director seconded. Before the vote, legal counsel read the oral summary required under Government Code Section 54953(c)(3), saying the benefit equates to a value of approximately $7,051 per year based on current salary. The board then took public comment; Jim Patrick called 120 hours "a lot" and urged restraint.
The board approved the amendment by roll call. Vice Chair Mandelmann was noted absent for the vote.
The action was recorded as a formal amendment to the executive director’s employment agreement; the board did not discuss any additional compensation changes on the record during that item.
