Heath launches PATH fundraising committee as parks near completion

The Heath Park Board used part of its Nov. 17 meeting to introduce the newly formed Parks and Trails of Heath (PATH) fundraising committee and invited members to give brief introductions.
"The PATH committee is gonna be instrumental in helping not only for Town Center Park, but also other areas of the city in which we have trails," the chair said, explaining the committee’s role is to bridge fundraising gaps for parks that the city prefers to fund conservatively. The chair encouraged PATH volunteers to begin fundraising immediately and to work closely with Parks staff and the Economic Development Corporation.
New members described local ties and reasons for volunteering. "I've been here at Heath for about 11 years... my wife and I have owned a few different businesses in Heath and Rockwall," said Brady Hill. Jordan Paverly, a certified fundraising executive who works for a private school in Dallas, said he joined to apply his professional skills locally. Several members noted a desire to improve connectivity and safe routes for children to reach parks.
The board and staff estimated Town Center Park’s baseline maintenance could approach about $500,000 per year, and they urged PATH to help identify donors and sponsorship opportunities. The chair said donor recognition (5- and 10-year naming opportunities) and focused corporate or private donations will be part of PATH’s early work.
Vice Chair John Walker will call PATH meetings; staff asked members to contact Mr. Creed or Suzanne for a full project rundown. The committee is advisory and fundraising-focused; it is not a replacement for the park board or a permit body.
