Blue Earth County’s drainage authority held an acceptance hearing Jan. 20 for repairs on Minneopa Creek and approved the engineer’s acceptance report and release of final payment to the contractor.
Staff said the engineer’s acceptance report concluded that all contractual work had been completed in accordance with plans and specifications. The acceptance triggers a three‑year warranty period for tile work and a one‑year warranty for open‑ditch work, and it authorizes payment of any remaining contract balance and payment of damages shown in the engineer’s report.
No members of the public spoke during the public‑comment portion of the acceptance hearing. The board voted to approve the drafted findings and orders and to issue final payment to the contractor.
Next steps: County staff will order payment of remaining contract balance per the accepted engineer’s report and record the warranty periods established by the acceptance action.
