Livingston County commissioners approve series of grants, contracts and infrastructure projects

The Livingston County Board of Commissioners approved a string of administrative resolutions on Aug. 26, authorizing grants, contracts and capital projects across county departments.
Among the actions the board approved were: certification of officer and employee delegates to the Municipal Employees Retirement System annual conference; acceptance of U.S. Department of Energy Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funds for HVAC replacement; return of community development block grant program income to the state; MDOT grant agreement for design of a snow removal equipment building at the county airport; contract awards for final design of airport facilities; construction authorizations for multiple county drains; acceptance of an MDHHS grant for child and parent legal representation in juvenile court; a memorandum of understanding and cash‑match approval for behavioral health managed care services (wraparound) for juvenile court; and contracts for fleet management and airport transportation services.
Most of the measures were moved and supported without extended debate and passed by either voice vote or roll call, frequently by unanimous margins. Financial staff and department directors introduced the items and provided brief explanations when requested. The board also approved claims and payables for the period July 28 through Aug. 16, 2024.
These actions authorize the county to accept and expend state and federal grant funds, contract for professional services, and proceed with several design and construction projects. Several items included reporting or contract‑execution follow‑up assigned to facilities, fiscal services or the county airport.
