Livingston County commissioners approve routine budget and claims items; board records unanimous votes

The Livingston County Board of Commissioners met July 14, 2024, and approved a series of routine fiscal items, including a budget amendment for Fund 234 (federal grant), a 2024 deficit elimination plan and combined claims and payables. The board conducted roll-call and voice votes and recorded unanimous approval on the items discussed.

The most immediate action was approval of the meeting agenda after a motion from Commissioner Sample and a second from Commissioner Panovich; the board approved the agenda by a 9–0 voice vote. Later, the board considered resolution 2025-07-086, a budget amendment for fiscal year 2025 relating to Fund 234 (described in the meeting as the “federal grant” fund). Commissioner Domas moved the resolution, Commissioner Gross seconded, and the board adopted it following a roll-call vote in which each commissioner recorded a “yes.”

Commissioner Gross moved the board’s 2024 deficit elimination plan (resolution 2025-07-087), seconded by Commissioner Sample; the motion passed on a voice vote with the board reporting nine ayes. The board then approved claims dated July 14, 2025 (item 7.1) and a corrected payables range for item 7.2 (clarified during the meeting to read June 16–June 30, 2025) after a combined motion by Commissioner Gross with support from Commissioner Deaton; the items passed by voice vote, 9–0.

The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn was approved by voice vote. The actions taken at the meeting were procedural and budgetary; no new policy initiatives were adopted during the session.
