The Lauderhill City Commission voted unanimously on Jan. 26 to approve Resolution 26R0125, granting a special exception to AT&T to allow outdoor storage and light‑industrial operations on a 2.2‑acre lot at 3760 Northwest 15th Street.
City planning staff presented the application and explained the conditional site plan previously approved (Jan. 12), noting the proposal included paved areas, screening walls, landscaping, lighting and security to support outdoor fleet and equipment storage. Staff said public notice requirements were met — a sign posted on the property on Jan. 11, mailed notice to property owners within 500 feet on Jan. 11, and a Sun Sentinel advertisement on Jan. 2 — and recommended approval after reviewing the seven factors of approval in the development review report.
An AT&T representative (Chris Collins, Urban Design Group) was present. After staff presentation and a brief discussion, Commissioner Saray Martin moved for approval; the motion was seconded, and the clerk recorded a 4‑0 vote in favor (Vice Mayor Campbell, Commissioner Hodgson, Commissioner Saray Martin, and Mayor Denise Grant voted yes; Commissioner Dunn was absent). The resolution will run to its effective date per the development order language.
What’s next: Staff will proceed with project permitting and the applicant with site preparation consistent with the approved site plan and the conditions attached to the special exception.
