Historic preservation grant announced; NPZA conference reminder for commissioners
Summary
Commissioners were informed the City Historic Preservation Commission received a state grant for a new historic building survey (no city funds required) and that the NPZA annual conference will be held in Kearney in March; the contract award to the consultant will be considered by City Council.
At the Jan. 27 meeting Speaker 4 notified the commission that the City Historic Preservation Commission received a state grant to fund another historic building survey. Speaker 4 said the grant will not require city funding because commission time can be counted toward the match; a consultant has been selected and the award of that contract will appear on the City Council agenda.
Speaker 4 also reminded commissioners that the Nebraska Planning and Zoning Association (NPZA) annual conference is in March in Kearney. Staff will register commissioners for the conference but attendees must make their own hotel arrangements and may submit reimbursement claims for lodging.
No formal action was required of the planning commission on either item; the announcements were informational.
