Board waives second reading and adopts salary ordinance amendment and MOU with Building Trades; introduces ACMEA changes

The Alameda County Board of Supervisors on March 25 waived the full second reading and adopted amendments to the county salary ordinance and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Alameda County Building and Construction Trades Council.
At second reading, supervisors moved and seconded to adopt the salary ordinance amendment and approve the MOU covering 02/02/2025 through 02/10/2029. The clerk recorded aye votes from Supervisors Marquez, Tam, Miley and President Halbert; Supervisor Fortunato Bass was excused for those votes. Each motion passed on the record.
The board also introduced two ordinances related to classifications added to the Alameda County Management Employees Association (ACMEA) representation: adding a developmental disabilities coordinator and a juvenile justice health services director. The first reading was moved and the ordinance introduced for future action.
County staff said the incumbent contractor rates for a separate procurement (discussed during item 40 questions) were consistent with past work and that a competing bid appeared inflated, supporting the recommendation to proceed with the incumbent.
