Approval of minutes: The board approved meeting minutes for Jan. 14, March 25 and April 22 by roll call (all present voted "Aye").
Mass consent package: The board moved and approved a large consent and regular calendar package covering dozens of items (items listed on the agenda). Multiple items were pulled for questions or future consideration; items 36, 86 and 102 were pulled off the agenda to be returned at a future date.
Item 51 (recusal): Supervisor Miley recused himself from item 51 because of his position with United Seniors; the remaining supervisors moved and approved the item with recorded yes votes.
CEDAW ordinance: The board voted to waive the full first reading and introduce an ordinance adding Chapter 9.5 to implement principles of the U.N. Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) in Alameda County. Supervisors discussed formation of a Gender Equity Work Group and possible partnership with an academic institution for project management; details on resourcing and work‑group composition will be determined by staff.
Salary ordinance amendments: The board also waived full first reading and introduced salary ordinance amendments and a memorandum of understanding amendment with the Alameda County Management Employees Association; votes were recorded by roll call.
