The Davis County Library Board on Nov. 13 ratified routine administrative items including minutes, expenditures for August and September, donations, and low-dollar contracts, and approved the calendar items for 2026.
Library Director Josh Johnson reviewed the minutes and the months' expenditures, explaining an extra payroll period accounted for the higher personnel cost in one month. Rosalie Taylor moved to approve the minutes; the board approved the motion by voice vote with one member stating “No,” and the chair declared the motion passed.
Johnson summarized donations recorded during the period and said the system logs in-kind gifts using the value they would realize at a library book sale; he reported 2,724 donated items were recorded. The board voted to ratify the donations list presented.
On contracts, Johnson reviewed low-dollar agreements the director had signed administratively and previewed an art/photo installation project. The board ratified those contracts by voice vote.
The board approved the proposed 2026 holiday closures (with an adjustment to align Independence Day observance timing with county practice) and the proposed 2026 meeting schedule. Both calendar items passed by voice vote after brief discussion of staff coverage and county holiday pay policies.
The meeting adjourned at 2:13 p.m. with staff noting follow-ups on documentation and next meeting materials.
