Hawthorne Board honors educators, announces inaugural athletic hall of fame

The Hawthorne Board of Education used its January meeting to honor educators districtwide and to announce the district’s first athletic hall of fame. After the awards, a representative of the Hawthorne High School Athletic Hall of Fame outlined the inaugural class of 2026, listing inductees across athletes, coaches and contributors and announcing a dinner scheduled for March 26 at the Brownstone starting at 6:30 p.m. The hall of fame committee said it will circulate ticket and ad-book information through school and social media channels.
Board members and attendees congratulated honorees and praised the variety of staff roles recognized, from classroom teachers to paraprofessionals and behavior specialists. The meeting’s recognition segment closed with group photos and the board recessed briefly to accommodate honorees.
