Deltona — The Volusia County Hispanic Association presented the City of Deltona with an $11,000 donation to support the expansion of the Harris Saxon Building at Harris Saxon Park.
Elaine Daniels, secretary of the association, said the funds were raised at the 2025 mayor's ball and are intended to support construction that benefits the Boys & Girls Club and families who use the facility. Daniels said the organization is volunteer‑led and guided by faith, integrity and accountability.
The commission thanked the group and recognized parade winners later in the meeting, including the Deltona High School Blue Brigade, Trinity Christian Academy (best float), the Volusia Jeep Club (best vehicle) and Studio B (best dance studio).
