Council honors Sherry Stein as she steps back from Fraser council

At the Nov. 13 meeting Fraser City Council presented a certificate of appreciation to Council Member Sherry Stein and acknowledged her service as she steps away from the council.
Mayor read a proclamation recognizing Stein's volunteer work dating back to 2008 and her leadership roles with Fraser Public Schools PTAs, Fraser High School Band Boosters, and Fraser First Booster Club. The proclamation credited Stein with contributing to local projects including McKinley Barrier-Free Park and community events such as the city parade and Polar Plunge.
Stein addressed the council in a farewell statement, saying she is "taking a pause" to recharge but will remain involved: "This is not a goodbye. I will still be around, still involved, and definitely, you haven't seen the last of me." She thanked fellow council members, staff and family for their support and encouraged newly elected officials to "lead with your heart" and listen to residents.
Council members and several residents offered personal thanks and best wishes.
