After closed session, Fraser council approves 2.5% raise for city manager

The council went into closed session under the Open Meetings Act, section 8(1)(a), to consider a periodic personnel evaluation of the city manager. When the public meeting resumed at about 8:28 p.m., Council Member Baranski moved "to give a 2 and a half percent raise to the city manager effective 12 months after the previous raise." The motion was seconded by Mayor Pro Tem O'Dell and passed by voice vote.
The council did not disclose the contents of the closed-session evaluation at the public meeting; the action recorded on the public record is the approved compensation adjustment and its effective timing. Staff were instructed to implement the pay adjustment through normal personnel and payroll procedures.
