Volunteer groups outline Fraser parade, trunk-or-treat and tree-planting plans

Volunteers from two local groups used the Oct. 14 Fraser Recreation Commission meeting to publicize several fall activities and request volunteers.
Vanya Apps, of the Fraser First Booster Club, said the group will take part in the Fraser parade on Oct. 26 and will "decorate a jeep" with a spiders theme; families are invited to walk with the group. The booster club will also staff a trunk-or-treat at Ramshorn on Oct. 25 (noon–3 p.m.) and will supply donuts, cider and volunteers for a tree-planting event the morning of Oct. 25; Apps said the tree-planting work begins at 9:00 a.m. The club’s executive board meets Oct. 15 at Hanover Grove Community Center (6:00 p.m. for the executive board; 6:30 p.m. for the general meeting).
A representative of the Fraser Beautification Club said the group will meet Oct. 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the clock area to plant locations funded and designed in partnership with the Department of Public Works. The Beautification Club also described a grant partnership with DTE and Relief Michigan for the Oct. 25 tree-planting (participants were asked to register in advance via the Relief Michigan RSVP page and to arrive by 8:45 a.m.). The club said roughly 20 trees will be planted and thanked Synergy Landscaping for planned seasonal displays.
