The St. Marys City Council swore in Julius M. Fisher as a patrol officer during Tuesday’s meeting.
A council member (S4) introduced Fisher, noting he "is a graduate of Saint Mary's Schools" and holds a bachelor’s degree in health and wellness from Mount Saint Joseph University, has served in the U.S. Army Reserves and recently graduated from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Basic Police Academy. Immediately afterward, the presiding officer (S1) administered the oath and Fisher recited, "I, Julius M Fisher, do solemnly swear and affirm" to support the constitutions of the United States and the State of Ohio and to discharge the duties of a police officer for the City of Saint Mary's.
The meeting opening included an invocation that explicitly asked for safety and blessing for the new officer. No additional personnel action or terms of employment were discussed in the transcript.
