During the city manager’s report at the May 19 meeting, staff said building permits were issued for new single-family homes at 71 Smith and 147 Barbara, bringing the 2025 total to four new single-family residential builds.
Staff announced a Crocker House Museum historical speaker series to be held Sunday, June 22 at 1 p.m., hosted by the museum and focusing on the history of the Mount Clemens Rose Gardens; registration information was provided. The Shadyside Park splash pad is scheduled to be open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. City offices will be closed on Monday, May 26 for Memorial Day and refuse pickup will run one day behind schedule for the week, resuming the regular schedule on Monday, June 2.
Staff also reported 2,151 ballots cast in the recent election for a voter turnout of 17.59% in Mount Clemens, and reminded potential candidates that candidate materials are available at the clerk’s office with a filing deadline referenced in the meeting.
