City manager reports CDBG applications, upcoming community events and election details

Shipman also announced several local events and services: the Mount Clemens beautification committee citywide cleanup (May 4, 10 a.m.–noon, meet at Shadyside Park, 155 Shadyside Drive); the Mount Clemens Farmers Market starting May 3 (Saturdays, 7 a.m.–1 p.m., 141 North River); Arbor Week (April 20–26) and Arbor Day (April 25); a seed and perennial giveaway at Karnes Community Center on April 26; seniors prom sign-up information at mountclemensrecreation.org; the Made in Michigan art fair (May 10–11) and an Uptown Friday concert series (June 6–Sept 12).
He also reminded voters that election day for the local special election is Tuesday, May 6, with all Mount Clemens precincts open 7 a.m.–8 p.m., and offered early voting on May 3–4, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. at Mount Clemens City Hall. Shipman provided a contact phone number for more information.
