Parks Commission elects president and secretary for 2026 term
Summary
During the Jan. 28 special meeting the Glendale Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission elected Commissioner Marion as president and Commissioner Alcazar as secretary for January 2026–January 2027 following nominations and roll‑call votes.
The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission completed its officer selections for the Jan. 2026–Jan. 2027 term at the special meeting.
Using the same nomination process the commission has followed in prior years, commissioners discussed seniority and continuity given upcoming expirations. A nomination was made and accepted for Commissioner Amirian to be president; the roll call result was read and the chair declared Commissioner Marion (recorded in the roll call as the nominee) the duly elected president for the one‑year term.
The commission then considered secretary nominations and confirmed Commissioner Alcazar by roll call. Commissioners congratulated both officers and proceeded to the next agenda item.
