Huff, who represents District 3, highlighted infrastructure work during his tenure and said he had helped bring “more than $300,000,000 in infrastructure investments into District 3.” He introduced Dr. Jake Golden, describing him as “an accomplished young leader, an educator, and a resident of District 3.”
The announcement drew extended remarks from colleagues and city staff. Councilors and the city attorney praised Huff’s mentorship and steady leadership; one councilor said Huff was “someone you could call that was an ally for you,” and Deputy City Manager said staff would be “devastated” to see him go but wished him well through the remainder of his term.
Huff said he remains committed to serving through 2026 and that there would be an opportunity later to reflect on his years of service. The council did not take any formal personnel action related to the announcement at the meeting.
