Transportation panel approves committee budget recommendation; revenue concerns flagged

The Senate Transportation Committee approved the budget summary as presented after a motion by Senator Courson and a second from Vice Senator Arderbright. The Senate Transportation Committee voted to recommend approval of the committeebudget summary. Senator Courson moved to approve the budget recommendation and Vice Senator Arderbright seconded; the committee adopted the recommendation by voice vote. Senator Tyson raised a concern based on the Department of Revenue's budget that the state may be paying more to produce license plates than it recovers, and said he would pursue a recommendation on the revenue budget in the tax committee to address the cost of the license-plate system. The motion carried by voice vote and the committee proceeded to other business.
