Council reviews permit revenue, training schedule and begins GO bond planning

At the Jan. 6 meeting, Fulton County Council received an end-of-year department report showing 807 building permits issued and $106,860.17 in revenue for the reporting year, up from $90,470 in the prior year.
A council member reminded colleagues that fire-protocol training will run through Jan. 22 and requested a revision to the salary ordinance language for some supplemental pays; that item proceeded later in the meeting as part of the salary-ordinance amendment.
Council leadership asked for permission to begin the GO bond planning process and to consult with county staff (named in discussion as Jason and Susan) so officials would have bond information ahead of budget season. Members supported starting the planning and a staff member said she would distribute webinar materials at the next meeting so members could review the facts and figures.
Council also noted the next regular meeting would be rescheduled because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
