Fulton County adopts planning commission zoning and subdivision amendments, effective Jan. 1

The Fulton County Commissioners voted to adopt amendments recommended by the Fulton County Planning Commission to the county zoning ordinance, subdivision control ordinance and zoning map.
Chair (unidentified) read Resolution No. 12012025, which incorporates the Planning Commission's certification (PC09222025) of amendments considered at a legally advertised hearing on Sept. 22, 2025. The resolution approves the amendments "as certified by the Fulton County Plan Commission to the Fulton County zone ordinance, Fulton County subdivision, control ordinance, and the zone map." The board voted to approve the resolution after a motion, with the clerk recording the action as "Motion carries." The resolution was reported to be effective Jan. 1.
Commissioners and staff confirmed the amendments and supporting materials had been posted online and made available at libraries and that the Planning Commission had reviewed and approved them in its public hearing. No substantive objections were raised at the meeting.
Next steps: The county will implement the ordinance and updated zoning map materials and make the effective changes public as of January 1.
